The ambassador of taste

Promoting the thousand-year-old culture of one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions worldwide is the mission of Ambasciata del Buon Vino. This label combines three of the red grape varieties native to the Valpolicella (or literally “valley of many cellars”), whose wine producing traditions date all the way back to the Roman Empire.

The thick-skinned Corvina grape is cultivated widely in this area, as its structure, color, and distinctive tannins are the backbone of many of the wines produced here. Rondinella and Molinara varieties are used to complement the area’s signature blends of Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone – the same wines chosen by this line to transmit its message of blended quality and tradition.

These varieties are ideal for the passerillage technique, which involves drying the grapes on aerated racks to concentrate their complex flavors. The result is full-bodied flavor, strong character, the silky palate – all typical of Amarone and Ripasso wines.

Alessandro Berselli, Alma’s founder, and Gianluigi Righetti, a well-known Valpolicella winemaker, have been working together since the 1990s. Their dream of producing wines that are ambassadors of taste has taken shape with this brand.
